who has a culture
"Who has a culture"
By: Samantha Monge
Culture sets humans apart from nature and we are the ones who form this culture by creating symbols and rituals, in which we follow through our own lives. Some examples that portrayed this is unit 2. It discussed the two rituals. One of the rituals was about a family that went on vacation to go to their cottage that they do annually and they look forward to it every time they go. Another ritual was Valentine's day ritual, that they bring upon to their children every time. In both stories, they both have something that they do to enjoy spending time with their families, they both uphold their Christians values and their beliefs.
"To be human is to live in a culture with specific symbols and rituals that helped us understand ourselves with God and the world"

In every religion, we learn that everything has a symbol to help understand our beliefs. Examples of this that displays our Catholic faith is the partaking of the Eucharists, the holy bible, the cross and the churches. Many beliefs have different symbols to represent many things such as the monks' belief in Buddha, and a Jew's symbol of a candelabra, that they use in Hanukkah.
"To be human is to live in a culture where religion plays an essential role in how we look at and live in the world."
We can be a part of this every day by putting this into our everyday lives by acknowledging the different symbols that are being presented in our culture and embracing it upon our own lives. Culture can spread goodness and positivity amongst our beloved earth.

I agree, I am very impressed in your media blog. This really shows how Filipino cultures is very beautiful and has their own uniqueness. Filipino always manage to rise above the challenge. Instead wallowing, they manage to pick up and smile. We have our own ways to celebrate our cultures, and I want to share how we celebrate ours, Filipino cultures. In the Philippines, it is family first. So whether you are part of the immediate family or you belong to the third or fourth generation, you are treated as a family member. Sometimes, even the closest of friends are considered family, too.
